Your Dirty Little Secret
Many people are doing incredible harm to their health every morning, in just five minutes. Can you guess how?
The Shower!
Simply stated chlorine is a pesticide, the sole purpose of which is to kill living organisms. When we consume water-containing chlorine, it kills some part of us, destroying cells and tissue inside our body.
BUT, a warm shower opens up your pores, causing your skin to act like a sponge. As a result, you not only inhale the chlorine vapours, you also absorb them through your skin, directly into your bloodstream-at a rate that’s up to six times higher than drinking.
- Chlorine is cosmetically damaging to both hair and skin.
- It can irritate the eyes, nose, throat, lungs and mucous membranes.
- It causes asthma sinus conditions allergies skin rashes emphysema.
- Chlorine can cause hidden ailments, such as headaches and other neurotoxic reactions.
- It can strip the skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry, itchy, and prematurely aged.
Most importantly, studies show that cumulative exposure to chlorine significantly increases the rate of heart disease and both bladder and colon cancer.
So, tomorrow morning, if you don’t already have one of our shower filters, remember not to inhale !
“We are quite convinced, based on this study, that there is an association between cancer and chlorinated water.” - Medical College Of Wisconsin research team.

Dental Hygiene & Cholesterol
Recently released research has suggested that a common ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash, can cause high cholesterol and increase the risk of heart attack or stroke.
The research by the Centre for Ageing and the ANZAC Research Institute in Sydney, has found that that the flavourless additive, called Poloxamer-407 (P407), when given to mice, coated cells in the liver that control cholesterol levels, leading to a 10-fold increase in levels.
“There’s a danger to keeping your cholesterol high … this can lead to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) over time,” Dr Cogger said. This significantly increases the risk of heart attack, stroke or organ failure.

Cancer News From John Hopkins
We have all embraced the convenience of microwaves, but have we really thought through some of the consequences of using them? Here is some important information being distributed by one of the USA’s major research facilities:
Cancer News from Johns Hopkins:
- No plastic containers in the microwave.
- No water bottles in freezer.
- No plastic wrap in microwave.
Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre as well.
Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a television program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.
Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.
Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.
To your good health.
